Lauramid® application example: Food industry
The European Union has prescribed strict migration limits for plastics which come into direct contact with food. With Lauramid® FS, Handtmann Elteka offers a construction material that complies fully with the conditions of the current EC regulation No. 1935/2004.
Due to the virtually limitless casting and further processing options facilitated by the high-tech polyamide, the completely tasteless Lauramid® FS can be used for a wide range of applications in the food production industry and is even ideal for production stages that involve long contact between the food and the plastic.
Very low-maintenance and reliable function are important characteristics when the Lauramid® high-tech polyamide is used for machine components. Especially if these machines run around the clock, which is common in the food industry. The excellent tribology of the cast PA 12C optimises the sliding properties and the noise and damping profile of the components, even when no lubricants are used. In combination with inseparably encapsulated metal reinforcements, economic overall solutions can thus also be achieved with food safe Lauramid® FS.
