Farewell to retiring Managing Director of Handtmann Maschinenfabrik

Karl Keller is retiring after 23 years working for the company.

Karl Keller, Managing Director of many years of Albert Handtmann Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG is retiring after 23 years working for the company. Due to the current pandemic situation, he was bid farewell on a reduced scale by company executives from Biberach and parts of the staff.

Thomas Handtmann, Managing Partner of the family company, and Harald Suchanka, Managing Director of Handtmann Maschinenfabrik, paid tribute to the “excellent management” of Karl Keller. Both thanked him for the excellent cooperation and his responsible stewardship. “He managed to successfully develop the Maschinenfabrik and also lead it through turbulent times, such as the financial crises and the coronavirus pandemic,” Thomas Handtmann did not spare his praise.

Under Karl Keller’s management, among other things, subsidiaries were established in numerous sales markets worldwide, a new company building with customer forums and a state-of-the-art logistics centre were erected at the Aspach industrial estate in Biberach.

With Mr. Keller’s retirement, the management of Handtmann Maschinenfabrik will be restructured. Harald Suchanka was appointed CEO of the Maschinenfabrik and will also be responsible for the sales activities of the division of filling and portioning systems. Valentin Ulrich, member of the Handtmann corporate management team and grandson of the late Arthur Handtmann deceased in 2018, will as new Commercial Manager be responsible for the areas of finance, controlling, services and infrastructure. A successor has already been found for the position of Technical Manager, who will assume his position in the course of the year.

 

Karl Keller was instrumental in the successful growth of the company. Under his leadership, the company has grown significantly, successfully expanded internationally and consistently evolved from a machine supplier for the meat processing industry to a modern technology supplier for the general food and pet food processing industry.
