Handtmann is a member of the Electromobility South-West Cluster
Actively shaping the technologies for the mobility of the future
Having already been accepted as a member of the Fuel Cell Baden-Württemberg cluster in November 2020, Handtmann has now also been a member of the Electromobility South-West cluster since October 2021. This cluster connects more than 170 players from business and science. The cluster succeeds in bringing together companies across sectors with research institutes in a unique, long-term and extremely stable cooperation network and in accelerating research and development.
The cluster members are united by the common vision of working on energy-efficient, environmentally compatible mobility in an age of scarce resources. Innovative technologies and methods are used to lay the foundation for new, sustainable and economic business models that secure our regional value creation and employment in the cluster region and throughout Baden-Württemberg.
Positioning innovative mobility solutions on the world market is the goal of the cluster initiative
The aim of the cluster network is to advance the industrialisation of electric mobility in Germany and to position Baden-Württemberg as an integrated research, development and production location for innovative mobility solutions on the global market.
The entire value chain of the mobility industry is covered through the cooperation of high-performance automobile manufacturers, globally leading system suppliers and numerous renowned medium-sized companies with excellent research institutions and universities. The Electromobility South-West Cluster thus provides the basis for new innovation processes and drives the industrialisation of electromobility through integrated technological competence. In doing so, the Electromobility South-West Cluster primarily aims to network members and partners from business, science and politics, generate ideas for cooperation projects and identify funding programmes.

"As a development and systems partner to the automotive industry, we at Handtmann are highly motivated to actively shape the technologies for sustainable and intelligent mobility of the future right from the start," explains Jonas Bodenbender, employee in the pre-development department at Handtmann Systemtechnik. "Collaboration in projects of the cluster initiative, exchange with other cluster members in working groups on current challenges, technologies and research approaches or the thematic discussion groups on current topics organised by the cluster management enable us to constantly expand our know-how and expertise regarding new drive technologies and incorporate this into our developments. In this way, we make ourselves a reliable, valued and indispensable partner for our customers in new projects right from the start."
