Hannover Messe 2018: Handtmann Elteka shows international presence

Handtmann Elteka was represented with two booths at the Hannover Messe in April. In addition to the main booth, where component solutions with the self-developed cast polyamide Lauramid® were presented, a special presentation at a "lightweight construction booth" with the composite HICOMPELT® was also made.

After a rapid, colourful trade fair opening with German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel and the President of this year's partner country Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, 210,000 international visitors informed themselves about the trends and technologies that will shape the future of the industry and logistics sector on five days of the world's largest industrial trade fair. Handtmann Elteka becomes a TV focal point with a new booth concept

Handtmann Elteka also presented its know-how in this environment. With the new booth concept, an exhibition area open on three sides and only a few exhibits presented in a more eye-catching way, Elteka attracted the attention of interested visitors in the year of the 50th anniversary of the in-house cast polyamide Lauramid®. And not just the attention of the visitors: Because the Elteka booth was so well received, sales representative Christian Stöhr was chosen as an interview partner for the trade fair video of the portal "die-deutsche-wirtschaft.de".

"Most visitors are not really familiar with the cast polyamide Lauramid®, let alone the many possibilities that our cast polyamide offers for components in demanding applications", Christian Stöhr sums up the experience at the trade fair. This is exactly the purpose of every trade fair participation: Getting to know each other, "getting into conversation" with as many new interested parties as possible, with whom the design possibilities of and with Lauramid® can be professionally discussed. The interest of the visitors was as varied as the construction possibilities with Lauramid® itself: From "simple" rollers and gears to cam disks, seals and a large number of special components, the expertise of Elteka experts was in demand. "How good and lasting the contacts at the Hanover trade fair and the discussions held were, i.e. whether this resulted in an actual business relationship, we will, as every year, observe this closely in the coming months", adds Managing Director Joachim Weiß.

Elteka know-how also on panel discussion

Handtmann Elteka's knowledge was also in demand for the special topic of lightweight construction: Timo Rothenbacher, project engineer for the composite HICOMPELT®, was invited to the panel discussion in lightweight construction. There, together with other industry experts, he answered the interested audience's questions on the subject of "stable and resilient lightweight solutions". The young composite material HICOMPELT® at Elteka once again proved to be of particular interest to the automotive and aviation industries. A cabin builder in the cable car sector also saw interesting applications for the heavy-duty, yet very light carbon and glass-fibre composite.

HANNOVER MESSE is the new products fair

According to the organizers, HANNOVER MESSE once again underpinned its claim to international leadership. 70% of the exhibitors had presented a technical innovation or a technical development of their products at this year's fair. "HANNOVER MESSE is the trade fair for innovations," says Prof. Dr. h.c. Friedhelm Loh, Chairman of the HANNOVER MESSE Exhibitors' Advisory Board. "If you want to see the future of production, you can't ignore a visit, whether CEO or owner-owner."
