The Brewing Summit is the combination of the trade fairs MBAA (Master Brewers Association of the Americas) and ASBC (American Society of Brewing Chemists) and took place in San Diego this year.

Rainer Zech, managing director of fittings factory, took part in the trade fair together with Franz Steinle (sales manager for plant engineering) and invited around 1,000 visitors to the Handtmann stand to exchange ideas. The many discussions with existing customers were particularly important. Some interesting new contacts were also made during the three days of the trade fair, for example with Orval Brewery from Belgium, which is planning to expand its cellar.

In September, 31 young women and men started their apprenticeships or a dual degree course at the Handtmann Group of Companies in Biberach.

In order to make the leap from school life to working life easier, the first three weeks at Handtmann are characterized by a mutual getting to know each other. In addition to getting to know the company during on-site inspections, there are also numerous information events, seminars and training sessions. Before the career starters start their regular training in the departments, a four-day team training in Wangen im Allgäu is still on the agenda.

Wide range of training and study opportunities at the Biberach location

Around 120 trainees and dual students are currently undergoing training at the Biberach location. The following training occupations can be learned at the company Handtmann: Electronics technician for industrial engineering, foundry mechanic, industrial mechanic, mechatronics technician, materials tester, IT specialist for system integration, industrial clerk, Bachelor of Arts in Industry and International Business, Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems and Bachelor of Engineering in Vehicle Systems Engineering, Design and Development and Production and Management.

Annaberg residents start apprenticeship year earlier on

At our company location in Annaberg, Saxony, we also had the pleasure of welcoming 5 new trainees. They already started their respective training in mid-August. And here, too, the search for interested young people has already begun again for the start of training in 2019. In Annaberg-Buchholz, they want to train as foundry mechanics (m/f), tool mechanics (m/f), mechatronics technicians (m/f), machining mechanics (m/f) and industrial clerks (m/f).

At the 14th edition of the Einstein Marathon on September 23rd in the city center of Ulm, runners and inline skaters from the Handtmann Group of Companies once again competed for Team Handtmann in various disciplines. After 2 injury-related absences in advance, the Handtmann team counted a total of 33 endurance athletes on the day of the event - from the chairman of the advisory board to the managing director, from members of the Ulrich family to clerks or workers, endurance sports enthusiasts from all company divisions were represented. Stefan Mohr (Metallgusswerk) even dared to take part in the 42.195 kilometer Marathon.

Getting to know each other at the Handtmann food stand

The hot temperatures and the sometimes very strong wind could not dampen the mood of the participants - neither during the race nor at the subsequent get-together at the Handtmann stand in Münsterplatz in Ulm. Here they came into contact with each other in a relaxed atmosphere with drinks and Nusszopf ('nut braid' - a coffeecake-like bread with nuts) and excitedly talked  about what they had achieved in Sports.
