HANDTMANN ARMATURENFABRIK AT TRADE SHOW „BEER SOCHI 2017“

Manufacturers of the beer industry meet in Russia

Handtmann Armaturenfabrik - promising contacts on BEER Sochi 2017.

On the "BEER Sochi 2017" from the 16th to the 19th of May the team of Handtmann Armaturenfabrik made promising new contacts.

This year, as has been the case since more than a quarter century, the fair “BEER” took place in Sochi/Russia. This annual exhibition gathers together the leading manufacturers of the beer, equipment, raw materials and packing industries.

The 2017 show was organized by “SOUD Sotchi Exhibition”. The forum consisted of more than 200 companies from 40 countries. All regions from Russia, as well as Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, France, Austria, Hungary, Denmark, Slovakia, Abkhazia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China were represented. The trade show recorded almost 2.500 visitors.

After the Ruble’s value decline, it seems as if Russia is becoming quite an important beer nation again. Lots of small breweries achieve high growth rates while successfully competing with the big breweries. As a matter of fact, craft beers are becoming more and more important. In parallel, the trend towards premium components and plants is a top priority.

Supported by our Russian representative there were many interesting and high-quality conversations with almost 30 breweries, wholesale traders, plant manufacturers and tank manufacturers. The follow-up communication with the visitors, the dispatch of documents, as well as the preparation of detailed offers is already in full swing.

CHINESE COLOSSUS VISITS HANDTMANN

Delegation from the world’s largest meat producer at Handtmann for strategy meetings

Handtmann Maschinenfabrik - Shineway managerial team is impressed.

The Shineway managerial team, lead by the Vice Presidents He Ke and Haili Qiao (front centre) are impressed by the process solutions made by Handtmann.

Since 2015, the USA has no longer been the largest national economy in the world. It is China. China boasts a gross domestic product of $ 17.6 trillion and 1.4 billion Chinese need to be fed. The Shineway Group, the largest meat producer in the world, plays its part in achieving this. 15 million pigs are slaughtered every year. Shineway has 13 production sites with an annual production of more than 2.7 million metric tonnes and 1,000 different products. However, the desire to expand is undiminishing, thus Shineway has bought sites in the USA, Poland and Romania which now need to be modernised. Modernisation is also required at the main plant in China. The aim is to reduce the workforce by 30 percent – an ambitious undertaking. The decision-makers from Shineway, this Chinese meat colossus, therefore visited the Handtmann Forum for strategy meetings.

The People’s Republic of China has been very dynamic economically for a number of years. It is no longer deemed an emerging market; it has increasingly developed into a major power in terms of economy and technology. This was one of the reasons why a delegation from the Shineway managerial team also paid a visit to Handtmann during their European tour – the search for state-of-the-art technology and the associated strategy meetings on automation and modernisation. The Vice Presidents, He Ke and Haili Qiao, as well as Meng Shufeng, the Equipment Management Center Director and Sheng Lei, Director of Production, showed an interest in new solutions for convenience food and formed products. They also investigated new technologies, such as the ConPro technology for products in alginate casing and robot technology for handling sausage and meat products with transfer to the packaging solution.

Shineway already uses countless VF 600 vacuum fillers, HVF high vacuum fillers, AL sausage filling lines and ConPro systems from Handtmann. More than 400 machines in total (it’s easy to lose track of the exact number in this case…). And as the meeting went very positively and the visitors were very impressed by the process solutions demonstrated, the number will increase significantly. This is because Handtmann is sure to be involved when Shineway starts to invest. Sums have not been mentioned – in accordance with the Chinese mentality you hold back from broaching this subject. But the Handtmann Maschinenfabrik can justifiably hope for some good business. And as the Chinese do not tend to give exuberant praise, the comment from Vice President He Ke after the tour of the company can be deemed a very high accolade indeed: “I’ve never seen a production facility as great as this.”

BAD WALDSEER LAUFFIEBER

Handtmann endurance runners put in an excellent performance

Once a year, the town hall square in Bad Waldsee is turned into an arena and the whole of the spa town is infected with the running bug. Approximately 2,000 passionate runners attended this year’s traditional sports meet, which was held for the 15th time.

Last year, the Handtmann team took part in this running event for the first time with a total of 15 runners. This year, 23 Handtmann Group of Companies employees headed to the starting line on 20th May. Enjoying excellent running weather – dry but not too hot – they joined hundreds of other endurance sportsmen and women on the Waldsee course to battle for the best competition times. All the Handtmann runners managed to complete their races.

In the RSW half marathon, Armin Burkhardt crossed the finishing line after just 01:28:37.9 hours – he therefore came 32nd and was the highest placed member of the team. A total of 712 runners had taken part in the 21.1 kilometre run. Torsten Weiss was the fastest to complete the 10,000 meter run. He reached the finishing line after 00:45:45.0 hours as 79th of a total of 333 runners. The best woman in the Handtmann team was Diana Hiller. With a time of 00:49:15.9 hours she came in 120th place.
