TEAM OF FOUR SPECIALISTS PERFORMS PCR AND RAPID TESTING ON HANDTMANN EMPLOYEES

Current and former employees support the Occupational Health Service at Handtmann in Biberach

Recently, Evelyn Fischbach from Handtmann Service and former Handtmann employees Elisabeth Zwerger-Männer and Lutz Herrmann have been supporting the Occupational Health Service team led by company doctor Steffen Strobel and assistant Manuel Stützle in containing the Corona pandemic.

The team has already carried out around 1,600 PCR and rapid tests on Handtmann Group employees at the Biberach site since the start of the test offensive in mid-March until the beginning of May. Thanks to the cooperation of the reactivated "retirees", it has now even been possible to extend the opening hours of the test centres at the two Biberach company locations on Arthur-Handtmann-Straße and Hubertus-Liebrecht-Straße and to significantly increase the daily testing capacity.

Vaccinations at Handtmann: We are equipped!

The team is also already equipped to vaccinate Handtmann employees in the future. As soon as the vaccine is available, we will get started.

Manuel Stützle is well known to the Handtmann workforce in Biberach as a safety specialist, company paramedic and occupational health assistant. He currently manages the testing and vaccination centre at Handtmann and provides technical advice to the members of the company's own Corona Hygiene Circle. In his spare time, he also works as a paramedic for the German Red Cross.

Evelyn Fischbach, originally a trained medical assistant, was transferred from her job as an employee in the Handtmann Service mail room to the test centre back in March, where she has been supporting the Occupational Health Service team in performing PCR and rapid tests ever since.

Lutz Herrmann, a long-time employee in the quality department at Handtmann Metallgusswerk, interrupted his retirement at the request of the human resources department and has been actively helping with throat and nose swabs since May. The reactivated pensioner has also been active for many years with the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund as a trainer and in the rescue service and therefore has the appropriate qualifications.

We are also very pleased that Elisabeth Zwerger-Männer has now rejoined Handtmann from her still "young" retirement. She worked at Handtmann Metallgusswerk for many years as a quality employee and as a works council member. She has also been a paramedic with the German Red Cross for many years.
