The Handtmann Group of Companies bids farewell to retiring managing director Jörg Hochhausen

After 22 years with the company, Jörg Hochhausen, Managing Director of Handtmann Service, was given a fitting send off to retirement at a small celebration with the corporate management and all managing directors of the Handtmann Group of Companies.

In his many years as Group Head of Human Resources, Jörg Hochhausen was responsible for the further development of the Human Resources department at all national and international sites of the Handtmann Group of Companies. During this time, the number of employees increased from 1,700 in 1999 to 4,000 in 2021. Today, six independent divisions develop, produce and distribute a wide range of products for various industry sectors such as automotive, food, beverages and chemicals.

Thomas Handtmann, Managing Partner, praised Jörg Hochhausen for his extraordinary commitment to the family enterprise. “Jörg Hochhausen has always represented the best interests of the company in dealings with many institutions such as the employers' association, trade unions, chambers of commerce, local authorities, educational as well as public institutions.” His honorary activities at the Ulm Chamber of Industry and Commerce as Chairman of the Biberach Working Committee for School/Business Cooperation (2004 to 2019) and as Chairman of the Vocational Training Committee (2005 to 2015) deserve special mention. Moreover, he was a member of the Vocational Training Committee of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (2005 to 2008).

As a member of the corporate management, Jörg Hochhausen played a key role in the development of the overall strategy of the Handtmann Group of Companies and successfully accompanied and supervised the executive management team. He placed great importance on the further development of the corporate culture, the values and the workforce’s sense of identification with the company. Thomas Handtmann thanked Jörg Hochhausen for the trusting and fruitful cooperation. “He was an indispensable point of contact for both the corporate management and the employees due to his approachable nature and his vast professional expertise. We wish him all the best for his well-deserved retirement."

The successor to Jörg Hochhausen, Dr. Robert Omagbemi, has already taken up his position. He most recently held a responsible and executive position at a large automotive supplier company.
