Albert Handtmann Metallgusswerk receives the Volkswagen Group Award 2024 in the category "Transformation”

On 2 July in Wolfsburg, Volkswagen AG presented its best international suppliers with the Volkswagen Group Award for the 20th time and Handtmann Metallgusswerk was among the winners. With the award, Volkswagen AG honours its suppliers for outstanding cooperation in a spirit of partnership, long-standing values and jointly achieved successes. The awards were characterised by transformation and primarily reflected future topics.

Members of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group and the brands as well as sponsors from Group Procurement presented the awards in 10 categories, which reflect the most important fields of action of the procurement strategy, and thanked the best suppliers of the past year for their commitment and cooperation. In front of around 350 guests from 29 countries, 10 different award winners were selected from the 40 nominated companies in the categories Costs, Sustainability, Launches, Resilience, Digitalisation, Transformation, Brands and Regions, Local Hero, Battery and Partnership.

As a long-standing and reliable partner, Handtmann is one of this year's award winners. Mr Dirk Seckler and Markus Handtmann were on site in Wolfsburg to receive the award as part of the ceremony.

With this award, Handtmann was recognised for its exceptional performance, high innovative strength and the partnership-based and transparent cooperation that contributes to the success of Volkswagen AG. The exemplary Handtmann transformation strategy - both the use of new technologies and the further development of existing expertise - impressed the jury. Handtmann's pioneering role in the field of megacasting and the associated establishment of a modern process in Germany and Europe for the optimal utilisation of existing locations was particularly emphasised in the award ceremony.

The laudation also emphasised the excellent cooperation with development, quality and logistics and the high level of commitment to maintaining the supply chain. On the other hand, Handtmann's innovative strength and willingness to transform the company has led to savings and efficiency gains, resulting in attractive offers and a high level of competitiveness.
