Finland’s leading meat products manufacturers visit the Handtmann Forum
An annual sales volume of € 2.2 billion is recorded by Finland’s 9 largest meat products producers. This includes global players such as Atria and HKScan, as well as the family-run company Snellman, which specialises in premium products, and Saarioinen, which focuses on the production of convenience products. Among the guests were Huhtahyvät, Kivikylän Kotipalvaamo, Lihajaloste Korpela, Pouttu and Wursti.
Accompanied by the Finnish Handtmann agency, Vesantti Oy, owners, managing directors, production, project and development managers and product developers from these companies visited the Handtmann Forum in Biberach to find out about the latest technologies. In the second Handtmann Customer Centre, constructed in 2016 with state-of-the-art technical and technological equipment, all the issues that are currently of importance in the Finnish market were dealt with – existing products and production processes are to be optimised, while at the same time producers are continually searching for new products and system solutions. Suitable solutions were identified by means of specialist presentations and professional, practical demonstrations. High-performance sausage production with top VF 800 vacuum filling technology and an AL system, plus an example of hygienic minced meat production with state-of-the-art inline grinding and minced meat portioning technology. The production of snacks and convenience products, such as dry sausage sticks, burgers etc., met with a great deal of interest. The guests were impressed with the simple visualisation of formed products on the monitor control system of the Handtmann vacuum filling machines. With just one touch, a new product is “formed” without having to reprogramme numerous individual parameters.
Handtmann professionalism impresses Finnish producers
In addition to the demonstrations in the technology centre, a tour of the Handtmann company building and the production halls left a positive impression on the delegation from Finland. Professionalism and quality assurance in every area was acknowledged by all the visitors.
