MULTIVAC and HANDTMANN forge a strategic partnership

Automated line solutions from a single source

[Translate to English:] Handtmann Multivac

Demand for automated and cost-effective line solutions from a single source for the production and packaging of food is increasing worldwide. In response to this demand, MULTIVAC and the HANDTMANN company from Biberach have entered a strategic partnership in a number of important markets. The single-source principle enables customers to plan, install and operate new lines more efficiently than ever before.

Food cutting, portioning, packaging and labelling: Automation lines for these tasks often consist of machines from a number of manufacturers. The effort required for planning, installation, operation and maintenance of the lines is therefore correspondingly high. “In times of high competitive pressures and a rapidly increasing variety of products, many food producers are seeking relief through simplicity – for line solutions from a single source that can be quickly planned, installed and operated cost-effectively,” explains Christian Traumann, Group President at MULTIVAC. “To meet this demand, we have expanded our network of excellent partners and entered a strategic partnership with HANDTMANN – the world’s leading manufacturer of systems for filling, portioning, forming and dosing.”

Everything from a single source: Customers save up to 40 percent of time in the design phase alone

Both companies can now offer integrated line solutions for the production and packaging of sausages, minced meat, formed products such as burgers, and dosed products for a wide range of industries. HANDTMANN’s filling and portioning technology will be supplemented by MULTIVAC's traysealing or thermoforming machines and line expertise, such as MULTIVAC Line Control (MLC). This results in tangible benefits for customers. Thanks to the collaboration with just one contact partner, they save up to 40 percent of time in the design phase alone. But there is more added value for customers to take advantage of. Harald Suchanka, CEO at Handtmann, firmly believes that: “Interfaces that are coordinated with each other guarantee significantly shorter installation times and a high level of reliability for line solutions. Additionally, the process control and monitoring of the entire line through digital solutions multiplies the rationalization effect.” An ideal prerequisite for optimum productivity. Guido Spix, Group President at MULTIVAC confirms: “Thanks to automated line solutions from a single source, food producers around the world can concentrate more than ever on their core business – without suffering any frictional losses.  That’s why we plan to continue working as partners on the further development of line solutions in the future.”

MULTIVAC takes over sales and service for HANDTMANN in several countries

The partnership also involves MULTIVAC taking over exclusive sales and service of HANDTMANN machines in the following countries: Albania, Australia, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Middle East, Mongolia, North and South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and India. In addition to sales, MULTIVAC's experts will also take on the installation and warranty of HANDTMANN components – including all after-sales service work and the supply of spare parts.
